Joseph Howard Roosth, MD
Joseph Howard Roosth, MD was born May 10, 1960 at Mother Frances Hospital. He is the third and youngest son of Dr. and Mrs. Wiley Roosth of Tyler, Texas. Dr. Roosth graduated from High School in 1978 from Robert E. Lee in Tyler, a member of the National Honor Society. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1982. He graduated from The Urniversity of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with an MD degree in 1986.
Dr. Roosth completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1988 and Residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1990.
He then worked for a variety of employers, obtaining his board certification in Internal Medicine in 1992, then decided to hang out his own shingle.
Dr. Roosth became certified in Palliative Medicine in 2005 by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and again in 2008 by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
I divide my professional time between my office, caring for patients in the hospital and serving as a hospice medical director.
Dr. Roosth enjoys riding bicycles, old movies, collecting automatic watches and cruising in his 2019 Corvette which Excessive Speed in Pearland upgraded to a 427. Dr. Roosth lives with a wonky English Cream Retriever, Lola. In a past life, Dr. Roosth served 10 years in the Texas State Guard Medical Brigade.
